This program was designed by Tsevet Lohamim’s Combat Fitness Director, Capt. (Res’) Ariel Bar-Lev, who has over 11 years of Combat Fitness training experience. She served for 6.5 years in the IDF as a Combat Fitness Officer. She has continued to coach and train pre-draftees using her vast array of knowledge, experience, and professionalism to successfully help them get accepted into elite units of the IDF.
WHAT IS IT?
The IDF Tactical Athlete Training Program exists to develop strength, endurance, speed, and agility. This prepares pre-draftees for special forces tryouts as well as basic training.
The program consists of 4 workouts a week, each averaging 60 minutes. This is an ongoing periodized training program. It is divided up into 4-6 week mesocycle phases; meaning the volume, sets, reps, and rest time are varied throughout each cycle in order to train as effectively as possible and avoid injury.
WHAT DO I NEED?
The IDF Tactical Athlete Training Program was designed for those with minimal access to proper training equipment. All you need is a pull-up bar, dip bars (commonly found at local parks), and a sandbag or some sort of weight (backpack filled with books or water bottles, pillowcase filled with dirt or sand, etc.)
For those that have access to a gym, you can use various forms of weights (kettlebells, dumbbells, Olympic weight lifting bar, etc.) instead of the sandbag.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
The IDF Tactical Athlete Training Program is delivered through an online training platform accessible via mobile app (available for android and iOS).
Once you sign up, you will receive an email explaining how to download the app and access the training plan.
